I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I spent my weekend doing yard work–mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, trimming shrubs, and removing plants that didn’t survive the winter. It was a lot of work clearing away winter’s neglect and readying my garden for the arrival of spring blooms like this creeping phlox, but it was well worth the effort. Just look at this spectacular show. What’s growing in your garden this spring?

  1. Jill, you did such a great job! Your garden looks amazing. Right now almost nothing is growing in mine but I’m determined to do something about it by the end of the week. 🙂

  2. Jill, your garden is amazing. So colorful and really lovely. I love the purple flowers and your adorable colorful cafe tables. Your garden is amazing. I need to start working on my garden, so far my daffodils are up, I have leaves on my rose bushes but nothing is budding yet. I need to clean up, I still have big branches in my yard from super storm sandy that I need to remove. My peonies are starting to peak out of the ground. I can only aspire to have a garden like yours.

    • Thanks, Suzanne. I designed the patio and garden to be executed in stages. That allowed me to break down the physical labor–and costs–into smaller, more manageable chunks. I’ve been meaning to write a post about how I did this. I need to find and assemble the photos that show my garden in various stages. I have plans to expand the patio and add more plants and shrubs, but they will have to wait until after I spruce up the porch and deck and complete a few indoor projects that are long overdue.
